Couldn't Be Prouder!

I'm so proud of my husband! He did it! Adam has worked very hard for the past few years, and graduated with honors from Weber State University on Friday, the 11th! He certainly deserves this reward after hours and hours, AND HOURS of classes, homework, studying, and tests! And all of this while working full time, and taking care of Owen in the evenings. Adam graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice. I just had to share my excitement for him!

Adam was reluctant to walk at graduation, (he told me at first he was not going to walk. But I talked him into it, or told him he was going to do it anyway, same thing, right?) but he did great, and I got to clap and scream for him as they called his name!

We are also so grateful for our families and their help with taking care of Owen while I was at work and Adam was in class! We couldn't have done it without you! Thank you to our parents, Emily and her family, and Tera! We love you all!

Congratulations Adam! I love you and want you to know how grateful I am for all of your hard work! You are amazing!

Being Two

Owen was ready to dig into his Football cake. Thank you to grandma, grandpa and Lauren for helping make it! He loved it!
Each morning this is what Owen requests that we do as he watches Imagination Movers. He loves this drum so much. And I love when he plays and sings "The Momma Song."

Poor thing! He fell at grandma's house, and scraped up his lip. This picture was the day after, and now, just days later, it is looking WAY better!

I just thought this was a fun picture. We took Owen to see Planet 51, and this is what we saw in the lobby at the theater. He kept going up to the "guys" to stare!

Happy Birthday Owen!

Today Owen is 2 years old and I can't believe how fast my little baby has grown up! Our wild man brings so much love and happiness to Adam and me! He is so smart and funny! He is picking up how to put words together to mean something, and is in love with sports (of course,)trains, Lightning Mcqueen, Dinosuars, and being outside! He has recently starting saying " I want walk" when we are in the car, and he knows we're arriving at our destination, but just the last couple days he has started to say "I want run!" He is just a fun boy! He loves to wrestle with daddy, loves to help when mom and daddy clean the house, and loves to dance and do somersaults with mommy! I love it so much when he asks for a hug, and wants us to just hold him as he falls asleep! He's growing up so fast and I'm so grateful I can be home during the day with him to watch him grow and learn each day!
We love you so much Owen Boy! And you'll always be our "baby!"
Happy Second Birthday!

Family Photos

We have never really gotten family photos since Owen has been born, and he'll be two this month. So we decided it was about time, even if Owen is so wild we can hardly get a shot of his face! They turned out really well though, I thought! And I'm excited to get them back! Jen did a great job!

St George

For my birthday we took a trip down to St George. Adam got us tickets to "Annie" at Tuacahn the night of my birthday, and Uncle Scot was nice enough to watch Owen while we had a night out. We had such a good time, and it was so good to have some hot weather for the last time this year! We ate pizza factory breadsticks, played with Owen in the water at the splash park, went bowling, shopped, ate ice cream, visited the temple, played basketball at the hotel, and finally, relaxed! I loved my birthday weekend, and loved spending it with my boys! Thanks for the great birthday, and getaway sweetheart!

"Bet Fav"

Anyone who knows Owen knows that he is obsessed with any sport involving a ball. He especially loves football, and watching it on tv. He watches the guys run around, throwing the ball and falling down when they get tackled, so he does exactly the same thing! He throws the ball, picks it up (or sometimes catches it) runs with it under his arm, and then falls, rolling and rolling. It's hilarious to watch! It was such an occassion on Monday night when Adam was watching Owen, and trying to do homework. Owen walked over to Adam and said "Fav." Not knowing what "fav" means he asked him to say it again. Then Owen said, "Bet Fav." Adam still couldn't figure it out when he heard the announcers for the football game say something about Brett Favre. I guess that they were talking a lot about Mr. Favre that night, and Owen caught on. It's so fun to see how much Owen really loves sports with no pushing or prodding. He has a genuine passion for it!

Clark Family Reunion

In August we went to the Clark family reunion in Logan and Clarkston. We had so much fun seeing all the aunts, uncles, and cousins that we don't get to see very often. We spent Friday afternoon at a farm that had activities and, of course, animals. Owen loved the petting zoo and riding the horses! We also went to the Clarkston cemetary and I learned a lot about our ancestors. I love going to Clarkston. It reminds me of when I was little and would go with Grandma and Grandpa to Pony Express days! We can't wait until next year's reunion!
I know it's blurry, but it's the only picture of our family that we got.

All of the Laursen grandchildren minus Mac (Lauren, I don't know why we didnt get him in there. We'll get one next time. Then we can include Jessie's little one!)

Sweet Family Reunion and pictures

Scot teaching Elizabeth to drive the motorcycle.
The results of the bug bites Adam got after itching them non-stop

This summer the Sweet Family Reunion was at a ranch right outside Zion National Park. We had a great time visting with family, canoeing, four wheeling, and running through the sprinklers to entertain Owen. I was very nervous about Owen in the canoe, but he loved being out among the ducks! Of course he couldn't get enough of the balls and the bike, but he had lots of fun and that's all that matters! Here are just a few pictures of our weekend.
We also got together at the Sweet home on a Sunday afternoon while Elizabeth and Scot were home to take some pictures of the Sweet children and grand children. It was a little crazy with all of those kids, but they turned out pretty well.
